Gavin Family Chapel Babson College Free admission The Piano Festival comprises student recitals followed by a concert by a professional pianist (see Concerts for details). The aim of the festival is to inspire local piano students, and those who perform on a recital receive a free ticket to the concert; students are admitted free to NCS concerts in any case, so they can bring an adult to the concert. Student Recitals Saturday, March 9th, 1:00 and 2:30 p.m. * Needham resident * Age 18 or younger * Permission from instructor (not necessarily a Needham resident) * Repertoire: short piece or movement of sonatina or sonata * Time limit: 5 minutes * Cost $20 (enclose check with registration form) * Deadline: February 23, 2013 * Notification of performance time: March 1 (to teacher)

String FestivalSaturday, March 16, 2013 at 12 noon and 2 p.m.
First Baptist Church, 858 Great Plain Avenue Free admission The String Festival is presented to foster community among string students and their teachers and to inspire the students. Information for participating students Performers must be 18 years old or younger, Needham residents or students of Needham teachers, taking lessons, and have their instructor's permission (the instructor does not have to be a Needham resident). All performances are limited to 10 minutes. The work can be a piece or one movement of a work for a solo string instrument or a piece for string and piano. The deadline for applications is March 9, 2013. A $10 fee must accompany the application.
